Contrary to popular beliefs, Typhoid is actually quite rare in urban Nigeria. A lot of Nigerians believe that if they have fever or feel malaise, then it’s definitely Malaria and Typhoid.

This lie has been fed to most people all their life. So they always expect drugs for Typhoid alongside Malaria treatment whenever they go to their doctors otherwise they feel the treatment is not complete.

Malaria and Typhoid are not twins. They rarely exist together. So what is the difference? Read this thread to learn about this and please retweet and repost so that other people will learn the truth.

Malaria is basically blood-borne transmitted mainly by a bite from a female Anopheles mosquito. It can also be transmitted by infected blood transfusions. It cannot be sexually transmitted in case you were wondering.

While typhoid is transmitted from faecal contamination of food or water. In lay man terms, that is poo/stool/shit finding its way from someone’s anus to your mouth. Pardon my language but I felt I should paint a lasting picture for you to remember.
