My hot take on SydCarmy is: I can accept if they don’t end up together. What I cannot accept, however, is Carmy ending up with Claire, and that a non-romantic interpretation of SydCarmy is the only way to interpret how their relationship was written.
@elysianisgone 100% agree. It’s so strange too, because compared to the other women on the show (Sydney, Nat, and Tina), Claire does not have any personality, is a stereotypical manic pixie, and lacks so much agency. Her supposed purpose as a foil doesn’t progress bc of her characterization.
idc if they’re dating irl. that doesn’t matter to me. what i do care is if them dating affects/affected the chances of sydcarmy bc i hate it when shows do that.
Thoughts on the happenings of the show aside, I’m really happy with what #NotSuitableForWork is doing in terms of representing the career-oriented side of Gen Z. Rarely is there media about this, and I appreciate how the characters have jobs that are pretty realistic.
#ThePitt: I think it would be incredibly hilarious if Abby Langdon never shows up onscreen and is kept elusive like that woman in the Powerpuff Girls whose face we never see.
#NotSuitableForWork: Okay I’m still at odds if the show will turn back to Josh and AJ (I think there’s a huge chance), but for now I’m all for the drama with Bill-AJ-Davis…
