Gay Klingon actor Karim Diane brags that Starfleet Academy season 2 will agitate fans further:

"But I can say… If anybody was excited by seeing gay things in the first season, ba-by! (laughs) If anybody was upset by gay things in the first season, prepare to be pissed off. (laughs)"

Should actors be proud of pissing their fanbases off?

Christina Applegate opens up about her health probelms and claims doctors misdiagnosed her with MS:

“This may come as great news, but to me, I’m back at square one. It’s hard to say that [my doctor] came into my room and she said, ‘Congratulations, you don’t have MS'... You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of the sudden I’m better. I haven’t gotten better … If anything, I’ve gotten worse in some ways. So I’m back at square one, that I don’t know what’s going on with me... there’s a pretty damn high number of misdiagnoses with MS. It’s clear now that they’re finding something different. Something else is going on... It’s this weird feeling because I became this poster child for MS. I had a reason. I had a f*cking reason as to why my day sucked every day. And now I don’t have a reason and it’s very unnerving and it’s really confusing for me.”

Do doctors know what they're doing at this point?

Robert Picardo blames politics for Starfleet Academy's cancelation:

"We were kind of killed in the cradle, and I believe part of it is the present political moment in our culture that diversity, that all of Star Trek’s core values are now out of fashion temporarily. We see diversity under attack, and therefore Star Trek is under attack because that’s what Star Trek’s always been about. "

Last time he said it was lack of advertising. When will they just admit it's a bad show?

Paul Bettany, in a press interview ahead of VisionQuest premiering this week on Disney+, on what finally got him excited to return as Vision after years of the character being in limbo following WandaVision:

“What really got me excited for Terry Matalas’s vision for the show was bringing James Spader back as Ultron. He’s so funny in this. It’s so delicious to watch him, and we loved working together. It’s fun stuff.”

James Spader signed on before there was even a script. Paul Bettany said Spader’s return was the thing that made it worth doing. Is Ultron the real main character of VisionQuest?

Paul Bettany, star of VisionQuest now streaming on Disney+, breaking his silence this week on the Johnny Depp text messages that briefly made him one of the most discussed actors in Hollywood in 2022:

“I hadn’t spoken to Johnny in years when that happened, and I haven’t spoken to him since. I was being painted as this close friend of a guy I hadn’t spoken to in years.”

He stayed silent for four years. He’s back as Vision. He’s finally talking. Is VisionQuest Marvel’s most quietly fascinating press tour of the year?

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran, in an IGN interview published yesterday, on whether Lanterns will get a second season after its first season ended with Hal Jordan’s death:

“Listen, we’ll see what happens with Lanterns Season 2. If the collective group of HBO and DC and Chris Mundy and the team all feel like we’ve got something that is a worthy successor to quite a beloved first season of television, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see more.”

IGN asked if Season 2 was greenlit. Safran said no. Hal Jordan is dead. John Stewart is heading to the movies. Is Lanterns already over?

Strange New Worlds showrunner Akiva Goldsman, responding to fan criticism that Season 4’s genre-hopping episodes were too gimmicky, in a TVLine interview:

“I get it, and we love those, too, but that’s not our show. It’s in the title: ‘Our worlds are genres.’ I really do respect and hear the criticism that when you have 10 episodes should they be more homogenous? But Strange New Worlds has never been that.”

Season 4 featured puppet Spock, a soap opera trapped Pike, and space dinosaurs. Season 5 is the final six-episode run. Did Strange New Worlds earn its chaos or waste its last full season on gimmicks?

Denis Villeneuve, director of Dune: Part Three opening December 18, in a new Variety interview published yesterday on why he needed James Bond to pull him away from Arrakis after finishing the trilogy:

“I thought, ‘When it’s done, I need a very powerful rocket to pull me away from Arrakis.’ I want to make sure that I will be severe with the material. That I will not be complacent.”

He called Dune: Part Three “my most personal film.” He’s describing it as a divorce movie. And now he needs a rocket to escape it. Is Villeneuve the most emotionally consumed filmmaker alive?

Podcaster Matt Jarbo reacts to the Greta Gerwig Narnia trailer:

"Look, I don't wanna dog on it before seeing the movie. It just feels so tonally weird. Having a Led Zeppelin song playing over visuals that were meant to take place during the early 1900's is a choice, but I don't think it was a good one.

This doesn't feel like the previous NARNIA films at all, and I get that this is Gerwig doing her BARBIE thing here.

BUT I can't help but feeling 'whelmed' by it all."

Is he right about this?

Netflix director Greta Gerwig on Narnia:

"I wouldn’t be who I am without these books" as she unveils the trailer for "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew."

“I made a beeline for Ted Sarandos at a cocktail party and said, ‘I really think you should start with ‘The Magician’s Nephew.' About 20 minutes later he said, ‘Do you want to write it?’ At that point, I had only made ‘Lady Bird’ and ‘Little Women.’ I hadn’t done ‘Barbie’ yet... I told Ted I only know how to make movies for the big screen. ‘He said, ‘Make the movie for the biggest screen and trust the process.'”

Picard season 3 showrunner and Visionquest writer Terry Matalas says he'd love to be the new Star Trek boss:

“Yes, of course, of course! I mean, knowing Kevin, I know that it’s really hard to be a Kevin Feige. But for Star Trek? That’s a dream come true. I grew up wanting to do that, so of course I would.”

Would he be a good choice?

Lanterns Podcast co-host Coy Jandreau lashed out at fans for their negative reactions to the finale:

"I don’t miss the feeling of doubting whether or not I’d save someone’s life if they were drowning.”

“They can choke on their own tongues, dude; they’re not worth living.” He added, “we’re overpopulated,” and, “these people are cannon fodder, and that’s what they want to be.”

Is this the sign of a failed show?
