@bellatrixshines That is true for sure. I think one of the biggest advantages is they teach children how to use their imaginations in a very streamlined way, for the most part. I do have a lot of appreciation for how they affected me in that way.
@bellatrixshines Ha! Thank you kindly m’lady. I don’t think a career is in my cards, but I do quite enjoy movies of all kinds, and was an avid follower of Roger Ebert before he passed. That counts for something. Right?
@bellatrixshines Wow! I am the product of a comic book ridden childhood. In fact, I still have a pretty substantial collection. I think I enjoy the mythological and sociological aspects of it all now much more than before. Those heroes were my friends at a time when I needed them.
@bellatrixshines Lazy is an good word for it. I felt like all the “wow” factor was laid squarely on the shoulders of the main character’s ability to sing the songs. And really... nothing else. Even the tension toward the end with the couple, and his fading momentum was based on that as well.
@bellatrixshines I was finally able to see this movie a couple days ago. It was quite a profound take on the making of a villain. I will be honest though, the die hard comic book geek in me was struggling with it a bit. A brilliant story though.
@bellatrixshines I thought “Yesterday” was an interesting premise that just didn’t go anywhere. It reminds me of “The Invention of Lying” in many ways, but the cast connected with me so much more than this one. Granted, you can’t knock the Beatles.
@bellatrixshines It’s been a while, but I have actually binged Pingu before. I don’t have many reasons to watch lately, but did enjoy it from time to time.
@bellatrixshines I think you’re right about this. Granted the debate over absolute ANYTHING is difficult. If they are wanting to share in the success of the other person, that may not be a contradiction, but if telling about it gives THEM pleasure, then that could be the purpose. It’s sad.
@bellatrixshines There is a progression from pholisophy to psychology that is unmistakeable. And it even spills into theological or existential debates as well. They are all sides of the same die in my experience.
