It was with profound fulfillment that I beheld the joy and quiet excitement radiating from our people as I commissioned the 23-kilometre road stretching from Madauchi to Kafanchan through Madakiya, including the spur to the iconic Matsirga Waterfalls, thereby linking Jema’a and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas. For Zangon Kataf, one of the twelve local governments areas in the state that, for over twelve years, had not benefited from a single completed kilometre of road; this moment signifies more than the laying of asphalt. It marks the restoration of dignity, inclusion, and long-deferred justice.
This road is both strategic and transformative. It connects critical communities within the Bajju Chiefdom, offers a reliable alternative to the Zonkwa–Samaru–Kagoro axis, and reduces travel time between Kafanchan and Zonkwa by nearly half. Since assuming office, our administration has initiated approximately 140 road projects covering 1,335 kilometres across Kaduna State, with 66 already completed. Each project is deliberately conceived to unlock economic potential, close historic connectivity gaps, and weave our diverse communities into a shared future of opportunity.
Agriculture lies at the heart of our growth agenda, and this corridor is a vital artery for productivity. It strengthens agricultural value chains, supports our farmers, and reinforces Kaduna State’s leadership in ginger production, accounting for nearly 80 percent of national output. The branch leading to Matsirga Waterfalls will further stimulate tourism, invigorate local enterprise, and broaden livelihood opportunities for surrounding communities.
I am deeply encouraged by the commendations of National Assembly members, traditional rulers, and community leaders, who acknowledged that this project has ended years of hardship, restored peace and stability, enabled farmers to return to their fields without fear, and revived long-abandoned projects. Their renewed confidence in governance affirms our governing ethos: inclusivity, fairness, and justice. We remain resolute in our belief that every son and daughter of Kaduna State deserves equal consideration, regardless of geography, faith, or ethnicity.

It was with a heavy yet hopeful heart that I visited our courageous brothers and sisters from Kurmin Wali at the Kaduna State Women and Children’s Shelter, where they are receiving medical care and psychosocial support after their return from the harrowing grip of banditry. The encounter was deeply moving, a solemn reminder of the cost of insecurity, and at the same time a testament to the resilience of our people. I am encouraged by the positive response to treatment and confident that, in due course, they will be medically and psychologically certified fit to reunite with their families and reclaim the rhythms of normal life.
Despite their ordeal, the survivors received me with visible warmth and optimism. Their expressions of gratitude to the Kaduna State Government, coupled with their determination to put this painful experience behind them, spoke volumes about their strength of character and enduring hope.
Our duty does not end with care and compassion. The Kaduna State Government remains steadfast in working closely with security agencies to secure the release of those still in captivity and ensure their safe return. In furtherance of this resolve, I have made a strong and compelling case to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Honourable Minister of Defence, and the Chief of Defence Staff for the establishment of a military base in Kurmin Wali. This critical step will significantly enhance security in the area and its environs, affirming our unyielding commitment to protect lives, restore peace, and uphold the dignity of every citizen of Kaduna State.

It was with reflective purpose and quiet confidence that I received a high-powered delegation from the National Institute for Sports (NIS), led by its Director-General, Comrade Philips Shuaibu, on a courtesy visit to explore avenues for strategic collaboration in youth development, sports advancement, and institutional capacity building. Our interaction was anchored on a shared conviction that sport, when deliberately invested in, is not merely recreational, but a transformative force for national cohesion, human capital development, and social renewal.
I was encouraged by the Director-General’s generous acknowledgement of our administration’s developmental strides, particularly within the sports sector. His commendation of the ongoing total reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, now being rebuilt to meet full FIFA standards, underscored the seriousness of our commitment to excellence and global competitiveness. I also welcomed the Institute’s decision to establish its North West Zonal Office in Kaduna State, a choice informed by our strategic location and the renewed confidence inspired by our developmental trajectory.
In receiving the delegation, I commended Comrade Shuaibu for his purposeful leadership and his resolve to reposition the National Institute of Sports as a central pillar of sports development in Nigeria. I reaffirmed our belief that sports serve as a powerful instrument for youth empowerment, social cohesion, discipline, and sustainable economic growth.
I highlighted our focused investments in sports infrastructure, including the reconstruction and expansion of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium from 16,000 to 32,000 seating capacity. I also acknowledged that capacity building remains a critical gap in the sector and expressed my satisfaction that the Institute’s presence will help address this need. We wholeheartedly welcome the establishment of its zonal office in Kaduna and will provide a fully furnished facility to support its operations. These achievements are made possible by the peace and stability we have restored across the state over the past two and a half years.

It was with a profound sense of honour and responsibility that I commissioned the 22-kilometre asphaltic road running from Pambeguwa through Kahuta to Kauru, complete with a three-span water bridge linking Kubau and Kauru Local Government Areas. This project stands as a tangible expression of our administration’s resolve to deliver infrastructure that is purposeful, responsive, and anchored in the lived realities of our people. Its completion affirms a governing philosophy rooted in foresight, accountability, and outcomes that endure.
Since assuming office, we have embarked on an ambitious programme of road construction, initiating 140 projects covering more than 1,335 kilometres across Kaduna State’s three senatorial zones. This particular road is of exceptional strategic value. It connects Kubau and Kauru Local Government Areas, bridges Zones One and Three, and opens vital access for no fewer than 46 farming communities that, since the 1970s, have endured isolation from markets, healthcare, and educational opportunities. Today, that long wait has ended.
This road also corrects a legacy of neglect. Kauru is among twelve local governments that had not benefited from a completed road project for over twelve years. By delivering this critical link, we are advancing fairness in development, reducing travel time and costs, stimulating local commerce, and strengthening agricultural productivity, which remains the lifeblood of our rural economy.
I am particularly encouraged by the voices of traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders who have openly acknowledged that this project represents a clear departure from the past. They have described it as evidence of leadership defined by sincerity of purpose, quality execution, and accountability to the people. Their confidence reinforces our determination to continue building a Kaduna State where development is deliberate, inclusive, and firmly centred on the dignity and aspirations of every citizen.

I have deliberately been reposting and commenting on posts from Governor @UbaSaniUS’s handle and one thing has stood out clearly over the past couple of weeks that the Governor has been continuously commissioning completed projects across virtually all parts of Kaduna State. In all fairness, this is commendable, especially as most of these projects are people-oriented and directly impact the daily lives of citizens.
One of the most recent is the commissioning of the 35-kilometre asphaltic road linking Gadar Gayan, Gwaraji, Wusar and Kujama Junction connecting Igabi, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas.
I told the Governor that I am planning another visit to Kaduna for project tours. I did a similar tour last year and witnessed firsthand how genuinely happy the beneficiaries of these projects were. I would truly love to see that again.
Kudos Gov. @UbaSaniUS! 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

TESTIMONIES: Governor Uba Sani commissioned Kaduna’s longest asphalt road to be constructed in 2 decades; a 35km road and a 130-metre bridge linking Igabi, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas. The project delivers on his Rural Transformation Agenda, ending generations of isolation for the people of Gadar Gayan and Gwaraji by connecting them to vital economic opportunities.
The stories of residents along this axis stand as a powerful testimony to the generational value and lasting impact of this intervention. #WorkingForKaduna
It was with a deep sense of purpose and responsibility that I declared open the Capacity Building Workshop on Strengthening Fiscal Responsibility and Public Financial Management for the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State. Organised by the Kaduna State Fiscal Responsibility Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and supported by key national oversight institutions, this workshop reflects our collective resolve to entrench transparency, accountability, and efficiency at the grassroots; where governance has its most immediate and enduring impact.
This intervention is both timely and necessary. Citizens across our state rightly demand greater value for public resources and more responsive service delivery. As the tier of government closest to the people, local governments must therefore operate with the highest standards of integrity, professional competence, and strict adherence to fiscal discipline.
Since assuming office, our administration has pursued deliberate reforms to strengthen institutions, enforce compliance with financial regulations, and cultivate a culture of accountability. These efforts have produced tangible results, with Kaduna State ranked as Nigeria’s most transparent and accountable state for two consecutive years on the Transparency and Integrity Index.
This workshop is designed to deepen understanding of fiscal responsibility, enhance budgetary discipline and procurement integrity, and strengthen oversight mechanisms at the local level. Our commitment to prudent, transparent, and accountable management of public resources remains unwavering, for sustainable development is anchored not only in what we spend, but in how faithfully we steward the public trust.

The commendations received from traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and residents affirm the values that guide our leadership: attentive listening, responsiveness to genuine needs, and decisive action. They have spoken movingly of restored livelihoods, revitalized local economies, and communities emerging from years of isolation with a renewed sense of belonging and possibility. Their unwavering support for our administration is both humbling and energizing.
This project forms part of a broader and deliberate infrastructure agenda encompassing 140 road projects spanning 1,335 kilometres across Kaduna State, with 66 already completed and others at advanced stages. We remain steadfast in our commitment to building a more connected, inclusive, and prosperous Kaduna State, one where development is shared equitably and no community is left behind.

It was with a deep sense of fulfillment and quiet pride that I witnessed the joy, relief, and renewed optimism reflected on the faces of our people as we commissioned the 35-kilometre asphaltic road linking Gadar Gayan, Gwaraji, Wusar, and Kujama Junction, thereby connecting Igabi, Kajuru, and Chikun Local Government Areas. This landmark infrastructure, anchored by a 130-metre bridge across River Kaduna, directly serves no fewer than 76 rural and farming communities. As the longest road constructed in Kaduna State in over two decades, it stands as a compelling symbol of our administration’s resolve to place people at the very heart of development.
From conception to completion, this road was envisioned as more than a stretch of asphalt; it was designed as a lifeline. Its purpose is to unlock economic opportunity, enhance security, and meaningfully improve the quality of life of our citizens. By providing a strategic alternative route that eases congestion around Kaduna metropolis and strengthens interconnectivity across our three senatorial zones, the road reduces travel time and transportation costs while expanding access to markets, healthcare, education, and emergency services. In doing so, it restores efficiency, safety, and dignity to daily movement.
While speaking at the commissioning, the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Mr. Abba Aliyu, acknowledged Kaduna State Government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and to reaching the most rural and underserved communities. His commendation of our consistent support and strong partnership with the Agency affirms the power of collaboration in delivering decentralised, high-impact solutions.

In steadfast alignment with our administration’s commitment to taking tangible and inclusive development to the grassroots, I had the honour of commissioning the 100-kilowatt Solar Mini-Grid Project in Damau community, Kubau Local Government Area. This milestone represents a clear departure from more than a decade of energy deprivation and marks the beginning of a new chapter defined by access, opportunity, and dignity. With the provision of clean, reliable, and sustainable electricity, households can now enjoy improved living conditions, small businesses can thrive, healthcare facilities can function more effectively, and students can pursue learning in an environment that nurtures aspiration and excellence.
This intervention is part of a deliberate and expanding energy strategy designed to power Kaduna State’s long-term economic transformation. Our growing portfolio includes the 10-megawatt solar project at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; 1.4 megawatts at Kaduna Polytechnic; 4 megawatts in Makarfi; and 2 megawatts at Tappco Ranch. We are also deploying over 1,600 kilowatts of distributed power to Ikara, Soba, and Kudan Local Government Areas, alongside plans to install 250 distribution transformers and 2,000 solar streetlights across the state. In 2026, similar renewable energy projects will extend to Kauru, Jema’a, Igabi, Kajuru, Chikun, Kaura, and Kagarko Local Government Areas, ensuring that no part of Kaduna State is left behind in our energy transition.
I sincerely commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his decisive leadership and compassion in initiating the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflicts. I equally appreciate the dedication and dexterity of Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, whose oversight ensured accountability, coordination, and measurable outcomes. I also acknowledge the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mrs Zubaida Umar, and her team for their professionalism and discipline in deploying resources effectively from conception to completion.
Notably, the Vice President commended our administration for fostering unity across Kaduna, particularly within Tudun Biri, describing this cohesion as a credible assurance of better days ahead. Other speakers similarly recognised our leadership for standing firmly with the people and ensuring that succour reached those most affected.
I thank the people of Tudun Biri for their patience, cooperation, and enduring trust in both the Federal Government and the Kaduna State Government. Today, Tudun Biri stands renewed as a symbol of resilience, cooperative governance, and restored national solidarity.

I joined the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, in Tudun Biri for the commissioning of houses constructed by the Federal Government under the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflicts (RSPIC), alongside key social and economic projects executed by the Kaduna State Government within the community.
The moment stands as a solemn and inspiring testament to our collective resolve to transform tragedy into durable progress. From the painful events of December 2023 emerged a comprehensive resettlement response that has now delivered more than one hundred modern housing units, thoughtfully designed to restore stability, safety, and dignity. Throughout this process, the Kaduna State Government played a central and consistent role, delivering a fully equipped 25-bed Primary Healthcare Centre, constructing a six kilometre asphalt access road, establishing a Skills Acquisition Centre, and restoring places of worship and learning that remain essential to communal life.
Through His Excellency, the Vice President, we also handed over Certificates of Occupancy and Rights of Occupancy to farmers whose lands were repurposed in the course of rebuilding. This deliberate step enables them to access credit, regain economic security, and participate fully in modern agribusiness, ensuring that reconstruction does not translate into dispossession.
These interventions extend far beyond physical infrastructure. They restore dignity, rebuild livelihoods, and renew hope. At its heart, this project is anchored on reintegration rather than displacement, ensuring that affected families return to communities that are safe, functional, and economically viable, with the confidence to rebuild their lives and futures.
On this blessed day, may Allah (SWT) strengthen our faith, purify our hearts, and multiply our good deeds. May He guide us upon the straight path, keep us away from poverty, sickness, and hardship, and provide us with what is sufficient and beneficial. May Allah forgive our shortcomings, surround us with His infinite mercy and grant us Al-Jannatul Firdaus, the abode of eternal peace and joy. Ameen
