@TortosaExpat@kmc_1889 It is only with hindsight that anyone is even questioning it. We essentially replaced him with Souttar that summer who was at the time head and shoulders above a half-fit Egan. We barely conceded a goal with him and Anel together
@AlanBiggs1 We have it put to us by the manager this week that the fans are being too negative, while the local media or MPs put out factually incorrect stuff like this. Is there any wonder really?
@TortosaExpat Can’t help but think they were expecting to sell Peck for a big fee which never materialised which may/may not have made a huge difference to the window
@AlanBiggs1 It was that fantastic recruitment team that brought in the vast majority of the terrible signings last summer once they abandoned the AI plan. Nobody can seriously believe Selles or Bord was behind the signings of Chong, McGuinness, Matos, Ogbene, Godfrey, Ings etc
@TortosaExpat His current wage will be huge even with back to back relegations, signed for £15m on a prem contract. With how modern day football works surely United know a ball park figure and he has indicated he wants to come for us to pursue it for so long.
@AlanGrinch@Hallowes_Blade He was here under Wilder not Hecky, defence before and after his injury were like night and day. Probably the main reason we didn’t keep pace with Leeds and Burnley was losing him and the ability to hold tight leads. I agree if we’re spending any money it has to be on him
@GeorgeElek@krxsctr Maybe not the case but surely he was in that role to learn the job with a view to taking over after Sven, otherwise not much use to him being there. So FA had pretty much decided on him regardless of what job he did at Boro?
@TortosaExpat Thought first season in prem he always looked good when given a chance, then got a lot injuries and put weight on. Think he’d have been great pre-prem in the Duffy role in the old formation
@twtduk The five loan players excuse he is using is a load of rubbish, Kalvin Phillips was only available for 3 games. Wasn’t selected because he offered nothing every time he played
