The word Highlife was invented in September 1925. According to ethnomusicologist Professor John Collins, Kwame Nkrumah later tried to get rid of the name “Highlife” and go back to “Sibi Saba,” its original Fante name.

Sibi Saba was the inspiration behind the legendary Osibisa.
