A Journey from Farm Planning to Sustainable Development
Josephine, a 54-year-old mother of 6 from Amolatar District has experienced remarkable transformation through her participation in FAPAD's agroecology interventions.

Today, Josephine manages a diversified farm comprising banana plantations, livestock, poultry, and various crop enterprises. The diversity of her farm has improved food security, reduced production risks, and provided multiple sources of income throughout the year.

Before FAPAD's programs, Josephine practiced traditional farming with limited diversification which constrained her household income. With support from FAPAD, she embraced the agroecological principle of diversity which encouraged her to establish multiple enterprises on her farm
tech. After struggling to access nutritious food for years, she was introduced to the concept of compost basket kitchen gardening by FAPAD and today, her garden is thriving with a variety of vegetables providing steady supply of nutritious food for her household.
