All in all, if you are an animator/artist, please do not upload your work to @YouTube . It can very easily be stolen, taken down and silenced, and nothing will be done about it. Upload to places like Vimeo or Cara or Newgrounds. Suggest other sites if you have any.
@YouTube The fact that David has appealed the copyright strike 3 times now- sharing extensive proof with WIP gifs and pre-pro videos- and yet @YouTube doesn't think that's good enough evidence just tells us that absolutely nothing is going to get done on their end. Dissappointing.
@YouTube David toils over his work every single day, and for it all to be thrown to the side as someone defiles and takes his hard earned work with minimal effort is appalling.
Artists are just treated like garbage nowadays and it's just really painful to see.
This is indeed 100% David Romero's work, I have been there watching him make his film (even consulted him on parts of it), and he released it back in 2019.
He's been struggling to get his video back up on YouTube because, apparently, it is easy to strike a video more than once.
I know this won't reach a lot of people, but I am saying this now to try and protect as many artists as I can #animation#YouTube:
Do NOT use YouTube to upload your art and animations. Don't. It can easily be stricken down and kept down by people stealing it for their own profit
Youtube staff refuses to take any action about it and allows their bots to do all of their work.
The site is not made for artists. It never was, and it never will be. Please keep that in mind and upload your valuable work anywhere else, be it on Newgrounds or Vimeo or Cara.
David's film had been striken again, and they do not intend to put it back up. His film. With his animation. Done entirely by him.
If you are an indy animator, I highly HIGHLY suggest posting somewhere other than Youtube. Stealing on there is excessively easy nowadays.
Hey @YouTube when are you gonna fix your shit copyright system that can easily be abused by anyone on the internet? David Romero has been having to deal with this issue for almost two months now, and now people who have interacted with his work are also getting struck.
