A Tragic Reminder of the Risks of Snake Handling😢

This tragic event underscores a critical lesson often taught in numerous health and safety courses across various professions: Diminished Risk Perception.

When we become familiar with dangers, we tend to lower our guard. It’s the same in my field,where we deal with high voltage switchgear on a daily basis.

This familiarity can breed a false sense of security, leading to catastrophic outcomes. Snakes, regardless of how well one knows them, remain unpredictable and highly dangerous. A single moment of distraction or lapse in attention can prove fatal.

At #ZESAUK we are constantly reminded that:

- Risks don't diminish with familiarity; they remain constant.
- Safety protocols are not just formalities; they are lifelines.
- Vigilance must never be compromised.

Let this be a lesson for all who work with or around hazardous animals or environments. Always respect the inherent dangers and maintain the highest levels of caution. Our familiarity should not blind us to the ever-present risks.
