"To say the least, I was a pretty difficult child to contain. My parents would tell me that I was not supposed to leave the house, but when I was four or five years old, I would constantly escape and run down the street.

They would lock me in a room so that I could not run away. We had one of those old-fashioned locks where the keyhole was accessible from both sides of the door.
