I am declaring war on nationalism👊
Not patriotism. Not love of country. Not pride in your culture, language, history, or traditions.
I am talking about the toxic form of nationalism that teaches people to fear, hate, envy, or resent those who are different.
The nationalism that divides instead of unites. The nationalism that wraps itself in religion while forgetting compassion. The nationalism that claims to defend freedom while attacking democracy. The nationalism that needs enemies in order to survive.
I don’t care if it is Christian nationalism, Muslim nationalism, Jewish nationalism, Hindu nationalism, Russian nationalism, Polish nationalism, American nationalism, or any other version.
If it places tribe above truth, identity above humanity, and power above democracy, I oppose it. I oppose it to the death.
I believe a nation should be strong enough to love itself without hating its neighbors. Confident enough to celebrate its achievements without envying others. Patriotic enough to defend its interests without abandoning its principles.
History has shown us what happens when nationalism becomes an ideology instead of a love for home.
I’ve seen enough of that story.
I’m on the side of democracy, freedom, cooperation, and human dignity.
Every damn time and for life.
@PawlowskiMario Good. It is worrying to watch this from the sideline, and it must be a Pole or Ukrainian saying what you said.
This is also happening in too many other European countries.
You can love your country and be allied with other countries, there is no contradiction in that.
@LACountyRRCC@dcopechatter Please enlighten a foreigner - is the signature outside the envelope, so you match the signature before you know what the voter voted for?
(That would be the only sensible thing to do, since it makes it impossible to challenge only "unwanted" votes.)
@Evan_R_Fischer@acnewsitics So, there is an election in an area where 70-80% support the Democrats.
And there, the Democrats find they need to cheat to win, so they take that risk.
Brilliant logic.
@Mbakaza4L As long as no court has come to a verdict, it's "accused". Even if there is a video which shows clearly what happened.
In a civilized society, it's the courts which find people "guilty".
If there is clear evidence and the court acquits, then, only then, it's time for complaints.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU It was Russia invading Crimea, starting the turmoil in Charkiv (where it failed), Luhansk and Donetsk.
It is Russia actively recruiting Africans and North Koreans to fight in their war.
If it was Global West, Zelensky wouldn't have to travel around begging for support.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU USA has done a lot of bad stuff, but it has slowed down. The imperialism of e g Britain and Spain is ancient history by now.
Russia and China are the threats of today.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU The war started in 2014. The full scale Russian invasion started in 2022.
US did not orchestrate a coup, that is a Russian excuse.
Ukraine was at the brink of becoming a second Belarus, a Russian puppet state.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU That wouldn't be practically possible. And in infected areas, neighbouring countries with an imperial agenda would interfere regularly.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU Those are two different things. If there really was a majority in Donbass, which you don't know, they should have started a political movement for separation. It takes time.
Now Russia started a proxy operation (the downing of MH 17 with a Russian BUK made that very evident).
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU Their government could forbid them. I work in a company where such restrictions apply, we cannot sell to anyone. It restricts our business, yes, but we will have to sell more on other markets instead.
@keresztespok1@armyinformcomua@DefenceU There was a referendum in Ukraine, a majority voted for a separate Ukraine. Only in Crimea the majority was slim, but even there it was a majority.
(I am not talking about referendums at gunpoint where everyone can see what you vote for)
