We had a great day at Flag Fen on Tuesday. Our whole school had an enriching day learning about prehistory, the Stone Age and Bronze Age. We viewed a world famous causeway (3,500 years old) and became archaeologists, palaeontologists and hunters for the day! @DEMAT__
Yesterday, Aspens catering produced a lovely fresh range of food for all pupils and staff to taste - encouraging pupils to try new foods and fill up after a busy morning of learning! It was fabulous and the feedback was very positive π
We welcomed our local PCSOs into our Collective Worship today. Children had the chance to ask questions about the role and how they can be excellent members of the community. The overriding message: be kind! @DEMAT__@kl55512
We all had a wonderful day back in school. In collective worship today, we learned about the word 'epiphany'; what it means literally and what 'Epiphany is in the Christian calendar.
I am sure we will all experience our own epiphanies in 2024!
Happy Coronation Weekend! We have had a wonderful day celebrating with good food, watching a live Coronation performed by Newton Class and an indoor picnic @DEMAT__

Thank you to the children and parents who attended the prayer event at St. John's Church on Friday. Reverend Andrew said that the children represented Farcet wonderfully and enjoyed all of the activities.
We had a visit from Det. Giffin today. He visited every class to talk about his job, the equipment he uses in his role and the work of the police. The children asked some great questions and were able to think about how the police help with our British value of 'The rule of law'.
In Forest School today, our Reception pupils have been thinking about the creatures that live in our woodland and their habitats. They worked together to create their own habitats!
Year 5/6 have started a unit of Art about printing. In today's lesson, we looked at a print by Hogarth before learning how to create a mono-print. The children did an observational drawing of an orange and then made their own print.
Lots of spring themed learning taking place in Newton class this week. We all enjoyed the Easter bonnet parade and the children worked very hard on decorating their eggs. Spring has definitely sprung at Farcet!
Yesterday, Mrs Stanley visited our Reception/Year 1 class. She explained how her farm works, about the crops and vegetables they grow and how they change after being planted. Thank you Mrs Stanley!
