Iranian Christian convert Ghazal Marzban has been sentenced to 9 years and 8 months in prison after authorities confiscated her Bible and Christian literature during a raid on her home in Tehran.

Marzban, who converted to Catholicism seven years ago, was convicted on charges including "propaganda against the state" and "gathering and collusion against national security." During interrogations, she was pressured to admit that her Bible was being used for evangelism, a claim she denied, insisting the materials were for personal use.

She was arrested in January and held for around a month without outside contact. Her husband, who suffers from Parkinson's disease and is also a Christian convert, relies on medication that has become difficult to access.
