@FenixAmmunition Real. A close female friend who is normally a normal level of female crazy went absolutely nuts when she couldn't go to the gym after recovering from a surgery for a couple weeks. Back in the gym, she returned to just average crazy again.

I had too high of an expectation of the Bluetooth sound quality. I tried to get my audiologist to create a music category but it was really possible. Because the domes are designed to let in the sounds in the range you can still hear it’s impossible to get ear bud quality sound.

The connectivity with my Phonaks is pretty good. The only thing I hate is that even if my phone is on vibrate the ringtone still comes through the hearing aids. I’ve been trying to decide if I should disable the BT altogether.

I’m 51 and have had hearing aids since I was 42. My hearing loss is a combination of hereditary issues( mom has cochlear implants) and outright abuse(loud music, loud job). The cognitive issues are real. When you have to ask people to repeat themselves you eventually just withdraw from talking to people. The HAs were life changing. The tinnitus is still an issue though. Sounds have to rise above it before the hearing aids begin to be really effective. While not perfect they did change my life.

A word for anyone scared of the costs. Mine were almost $7,000 for the set. There’s a long technical explanation for the difference between mine and the $400 pair on Amazon. I recommended a real audiologist and not one of the retail places like Audibel. They only want to sell you hearing aids and don’t care much about understanding your hearing loss. Costco was surprisingly thorough but I ended up going with a place that was part of a school for kids with hearing loss.

My state has a vocational rehab program that will pay for hearing aids. It was surprisingly easy to qualify for and they covered the entire cost of my hearings aids and all the office visits. It’s worth looking into if you think you need them.

Finally, chicks worth a shit don’t care about them. That was a primary worry of mine. So don’t let that be an impediment to improving your life.
