Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said,
"Be kind to those who are unkind to you, conclude your affairs in private and make people your acquaintances and not your friends."
[Saydil al-Khatir, pg. 953]
tupac recorded 501 songs, but only 2 became top ten hits.
van gogh painted 2,100 paintings and only sold 1 while he was alive and it was 6 months before he died.
sabrina carpenter released 67 songs and five albums over the course of 10 years before she had her big hit "espresso."
glen powell spent 19 years trying to become an actor before "top gun: maverick" made him a star. 19 solid years.
and connor story spent 8 years waiting tables and he was ready to quit acting for good. and the day he almost got fired, he got an email and he found out that he got the lead actor role in "heated rivalry," the biggest acquired hbo show in history.
and you are giving up because you tried twice? or maybe 10 times?
look, a winner is just a loser that tried one more time and that's just it
winners lose more than losers even try.
I read a quote that said
“The faster that you do the hard things you want to avoid, the faster you will receive the good things you actually want”
and that has changed my whole perspective.
You can literally feel in your soul when it’s TIME .. time to move on from people, time to make a change in your life, time to get rid of unhealthy habits, time to want MORE for yourself. At some point you’ll just know..
Underrated truth: No matter where you are in life, there is still so much to look forward to. People you haven’t met. Places you haven’t seen. Ideas you haven’t discovered. Versions of yourself you haven’t become. Believe the world has more in store for you, and it will.
Sorry to disturb your scrolling, but Surah Al Waqiah humbles the heart in ways it cannot explain. A quiet reminder that your rizq, your worries, your whole life are already in Allah's hands.
Delays are part of life, Get used to it. Not everything will go according to your plan. When Allah delays, there is khair in it. You might not be able to see it right now but Allah will show you why He made you wait. So be patient. Because you will soon see beautiful blessings.
Allah knows much for sure how you're losing out of control now. He sees how much you're trying to deal with everything. He sees it all. Your worries, your agony, your loneliness, your fears, and your longing. He sees your soul, he sees what's happening. But just because He can't answers your prayers now, doesn't mean He's not listening.
You just need to understand that everything has a right timing. And every pain has a purpose. He'll test your patience, He'll test your faith. But that's because He knows you well, He knows that you can make it all through. And He already knew from the very start that you'll be alright after every pain. Trust Allah, He's just making you braver. He's always within you. You just need to believe in Him. It'll all be worth it.❤️
Do your deeds sincerely for the Sake of Almighty Allah. He will reward you. No matter how small it is. Repent sincerely for your misdeeds and He will forgive you. That’s how Merciful He is.
if you are a young guy below 30, pay solid attention to this tweet and if you are unmarried, then congratulations.
there is something i need you to do. go check your family history, from your great grandfather down to your father. find out how they grew up and how they got married.
now, let me tell you this; there is a high chance that your great grandfather married in poverty and gave birth to your grandfather in poverty, your grandfather married in poverty and gave birth to your father in poverty and your father also married in poverty, despite his efforts, he couldn't break out of that cycle before marrying your mother. then you were born into that same poverty.
do you know what i need you to do?
try as much as possible to break out of poverty, that yoke before you get married. i know it is not easy and it'll not be easy but please try. in fact, if it means delaying marriage for a few more years so you can break that cycle, then do it. if it means postponing marriage, do it.
do you know why?
the moment you step into marriage, that same burden will follow you. it becomes much harder to escape poverty once you have the extra responsibilities of a family esp if you come from a struggling background. it takes hard work, even more hard work and the grace of god to break out of poverty after marriage as a man who was born into a poor family.
now, the second mistake is marrying a woman from a similarly struggling background. what do i mean? you marry a woman whose parents are struggling, whose siblings are struggling and who is also struggling financially.
ah! don't make that mistake.
otherwise, you may spend the rest of your life carrying burdens that become much heavier than you imagined. you will regret it and you will cry. repost and share this aggressively to other young men, buena suerte 👍
For those who didn’t know late Col. AA Ude and the reason why his mysterious death is so painful to us (Igbo Muslims)
Sheikh Col. AA Ude was a Hafizul Qur’an (He memorized the whole Qur’an).
He was a mastery of Arabic Language, he commands the Language perhaps better than the Arabs.
He was a seasoned intelligence military officer and one of the best in Nigeria today.
He was due for his promotion to the rank of Brigadier General next year (a rank no Igbo Muslim ever has attained in the Military).
He had numerous awards commending his rare intelligence and intellect in Military intelligence security (a rare breed).
Above all, he was a very calm, quiet, and composed individual and hardly raises his voice when he communicates! 😭
He was a Teacher of the Qur’an and a great mentor to most of us and Wallahi, it would take a generation to raise his kind again in our midst!
May Allah grant you pardon our dear sheikh and illuminate your grave! May you not be questioned for too long before you are admitted into Jannah!
We lost our hero!
Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.

The world can’t carry everyone along.
Some will be left behind.
Some will be forgotten.
Some will be abandoned.
But may it not be you and I.
May we never be counted among those who watched destiny pass by… Or those who realised too late that they had been left behind.
May it not be you.
May it not be me.
I was informed that my mother has been sick 3 days ago by my dad on WhatsApp
I kept mute because I was still hurt
I couldn't just ignore for long so I took a bold decision yesterday to visit my parents after a long time of threats and curses from them since I reverted to Islam
My parents were shocked to see me though
So I bought them some provisions and gave to them like I used to in the past
I saw my mother and I was weeping inside my heart
I learnt they've gone to several hospitals but her condition persists
So without looking back I held her hands and started reciting surah falaq, nas and ayatul kursi
Then I got a glass of water and recited surah fatiha on it and blew air into it and gave her to drink because I learnt that surah is also called The Cure
My father didn't stop me
But I noticed my mum started getting relieved gradually
To cut the long story short I left towards the evening because I had a flight to catch to lagos and I left hurriedly
When I got to lagos as at 7pm I called them back and my father said my mum has been sleeping so I let them rest
This morning my dad's call woke me up by 4am to tell me that my mums sleep improved overnight and she's been moving her limbs better since last night
He said whatever I did yesterday worked o that he doesn't mind if I keep doing that
I was overjoyed after the call
I had my tahajjud and thanked Allah and prayed my mums health improves
But I still kept wondering how a simple surah from the Glorious Qur’an could be so effective
I am beginning to deepen my Fear for Allah SWT
On the other hand I am wishing they turn to Allah so they can see how Great Allah is and worship him too
Indeed Allah is the greatest
Bro, your life gets better when you stop needing every day to be exciting. Some of the strongest days are simple ones. You trained. You worked. You ate well. You spoke to your family. You got some fresh air. You went to sleep with a clear head. That is not a boring life. That is a life coming together.
Most people are not inconsistent because they lack ambition, they are inconsistent because they keep designing routines for the version of themselves that feels strong, while the version that actually needs the routine is tired, distracted, slightly emotional, and surrounded by ordinary friction.
I read something recently:
“There's a small window in life, when your parents are healthy, your children are little, and everyone Is together. It's feels like it's forever, until it's over."
So cherish it.
