Quantum amplitude estimation from classical signal processing: https://t.co/ZotD1MaUHC
The problem of amplitude estimation can be mapped directly to a problem in signal processing called direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. The DOA task is to determine the direction of arrival
of an incoming wave with the fewest possible measurements. Measurements of the quantum state at different values of Grover iterations can be mapped to a ''signal'', which can be post-processed using a DOA algorithm to estimate the amplitude.
Magic states are cubic "nonclassical" polynomials, while stabilizer states are quadratic. I use this fact to give a linear lower bound on the stabilizer rank of the n-qudit magic states.
Researchers at QuSoft have won the outstanding paper prize for their paper “Quasirandom quantum channels” https://t.co/GvbAwWyp7A It's awarded by @tqc2020, which starts today! Coming Friday Farrokh Labib will give an online presentation about it at 11:45 https://t.co/IH2AUXFBvh
