💥Discard ITR Option on Income-tax Portal
Portal allows taxpayers to discard an Original, Belated or Revised ITR-but only before it is verified.
📌 A discarded ITR is treated as not filed.
📌 After discarding it, a fresh ITR can be filed.
📌 If the fresh return is filed after the due date, applicable consequences of delayed filing may arise.
📌 The option is available only within the prescribed time limit for filing return i.e. upto 31 Dec following the end of FY
Discard or Revise - what is the difference?
In a revised return, the original return continues to remain part of the filing history (Figures will remain on portal)
By using the “Discard ITR” option, the unverified return is removed from the portal and figures no longer remain available on portal.
⚠️ Remember: Once an ITR is verified, it cannot be discarded.

So there’s a guy who ran away with my 8 lakhs of pending payments for a work we did couple of years back. I don’t have anything on paper. Is it possible to file a police complaint? I know his name and all.
Big GST relief likely for businesses.
Buyers may no longer lose Input Tax Credit (ITC) if the supplier fails to deposit GST with the government.
Proposal: Once the supplier’s GSTR-2B is generated and the buyer furnishes banking/payment documents, the buyer’s ITC may be protected.
At present, even after paying GST to the supplier, buyers can lose ITC if the supplier defaults on tax payment.
The proposed change is expected to be taken up by the GST Council.
The move will provide major relief to compliant and formally operating businesses by reducing the risk arising from supplier tax defaults. @FinMinIndia@GST_Council@Infosys_GSTN@askGST_GoI@FollowCII@ficci_india@ASSOCHAM4India
