@LadyOfMichigan@kvwviiju I must be misunderstanding something but it seems pretty clear that they don’t support it. They’re even trying to do something by spreading the word and seeking advice. Doesn’t dunking on this person hurt the goal of stopping slavery?
@Trash_ness @desolate737@PotionDweller Yea I get how you feel there. The fact that this type of art succeeds over quality art says something about the consumers of the art. What that is exactly, I don’t know but i don’t think it’s good.
@desolate737@PotionDweller That is true. Antisemitism does cause some of its hate. I don’t think it’s wise to use that as a defence against genuine criticism. Granted I think that specific piece does have some merit (the uniqueness of the colours, etc) but it has the same flaws as many modern pieces.
@desolate737@PotionDweller I’ve watched the video. It makes a point that the guy who vandalised “who’s afraid of modern art” was allegedly antisemitic. Gellar heavily implies that if you have similar views on the painting then you have deep rooted antisemitism, when the above critique is pretty justified.
@OverClockLasor@lporiginalg I think it’s less x y z badman is 5% less evil and more like the good guy are 95% more evil. For a WW2 example, I discovered my birth country (Australia) forced the natives of New Guinea to carry their wounded and supplies. This isn’t mentioning the Allies horrendous bombings.
@Vibetom@PurifierAzrael@hayasaka_aryan Fascism was very popular with feminists. In fact, one of the first fascist movements in the UK was founded by a woman and feminist (Rotha Linton-Orman)
@LanceOmikron@RobinPoedev That really depends on your own perspective. Gaming is an artform that is really good at selling you an experience. Like most horror games aren't fun (to me) but I still play them for the narrative experience and to feel negative emotions like fear or stress.
@mortelkill @RobinPoedev Another argument for them is that they're kinda funny. Like in Fear and Hunger you can softlock yourself by jumping into a toilet.
@mortelkill @RobinPoedev I think the argument for softlocks is that the devs generally have to go out of their way to ensure they can't happen, and they likely occur cause the player wasn't paying attention so why should a dev spend their development time catering to the audience that isn't invested.
