@washingtonpost If an underground complex is needed for POTUS and other WH staff to be safe then can we expect the main bldg and W Wing to be demolished, or at least abandoned once construction is complete? I suspect it will be demolished to make room for more bunker construction.

Theory: The "security" complex to lie beneath the ballroom is, in fact, a replacement Oval Office and residence. The existing facilities, being aboveground, are not securable from drone and missile attack.
