@Jennifer_cleat APD has the highest-paid officers in the state, got at $26 million raise last year, officers literally get away with murder, use deceptive practices to fight citizen oversight. How exactly are they mistreated?
@SaveAustinNow In 2024, you pushed a $26 million raise for the state's most expensive police force -- while crime rates plummeted. And now, two years later, you're posing as fiscal conservatives? I guess Trump voters will believe anything.
@JoelWebbon For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
—Matthew 25:25–36
Same "budget warriors" crying about $26 lunches pushed for a $26 MILLION raise for APD -- already the most expensive police force in Texas.
And this happened last year as CRIME RATES PLUMMETED.

It’s absolutely a smoking gun. No one who gets a corporate credit card thinks they can just charge their personal meals to the company. Same thing with city officials.
TC Broadnax is making $488,000 a year. It’s absolutely an ethical issue if Broadnax decided 150 times during his first 12 months that he should charge his meals to the City of Austin instead of paying for lunch himself.
The only businesses that offer free daily lunch for their employees are (a) restaurants and (b) highly profitable tech companies that are in recruiting battles for engineers
The optics from an ethical perspective look awful. The person in charge of managing the city budget committed this financial and ethical violation 150 times - then claimed he had no idea he was doing something wrong.
Give me a break! TC knew 100% it was wrong and would result in immediate termination in the private sector. TC could also sued in court.
The only reason his colleagues aren’t demanding his immediate resignation? They are guilty of the exact same shenanigans
@RogerMarshallMD Republicans will do nothing. They like our massively profitable health care system just the way it is.
The good doctor is obviously hoping everyone forgets by then.
@ATXVideos@austintexasgov Drop in the bucket.
Last year, when council gave APD a $26 million raise -- while crime rates plummeted? That was a treasonous disaster.
