@MikeRey92144159@VirtueOfNothing Because their heads are filled with nonsense like 'you are fully trained'. 20 years in, a lot of varied experience, a lot of training and exams and I still have the fear. A needless death. Medicine on the cheap will have these consequences.
@DJGaryBaldy As the article pinned earlier confirms once again, long term pain does not respond to strong analgesia. The NICE guidelines recommend paracetamol only as nowt else helps. I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Sadly your options appear very limited.
@andymoz78 They're coming after every specialty. I feared this when I was a BST trainee and the few years after before switching to GP. It's wrong and it won't work long term.

Both Colleges need to unambiguously make a stand for quality in the provision of safe healthcare - medicine should be practiced by qualified physicians; anaesthesia delivered by qualified anaesthetists
