Both times I’ve felt like throwing my food away. I didn’t do it. But I definitely stopped enjoying my food.
I forgot about the first instance but it happened again today and ngl, I’m triggered.
I love being fat shamed by someone makes a random assumption about me while knowing nothing about my eating habits & routine.
It’s alright if you do it once, but to literally do it repeatedly &more importantly, do it when I’m eating something with happiness. Way to kill my vibe.
It’s good that I’m not letting myself get affected.. but ofc, it bothers me.
There’s no reason to bring someone down & to dim someone’s light.
But oh well.. we still have people who like doing this. And I’m not going to explain myself and my habits to someone who only assumes.
People who spend long periods of time at home & slowly lose the desire to go outside often think they're just resting. But psychologically, many of them are experiencing something called MENTAL RUMINATION. It's a state where the brain starts slowing down while the number of thoughts inside keeps increasing & the motivation to do anything slowly disappears. The mind gets stuck in the past, worries about the future and burns itself out. This isn't laziness, it's a nervous system stuck in survival mode. And the longer it lasts, the more distant normal life begins to feel. And the difficult part is that you usually can't escape it through one massive burst of motivation. And sometimes, recovery starts with just one small step.
The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.
