@huskyhuskarl Iโve been trying to say this for years. You can do whatever you like at your table. But, you may have to be ready for the consequences of no one wanting to play WITH you.
@bruce_capua @hexcrawl I realized in my original tweet I forgot to include DancesWithWolves. Based on the # of ppl who saw it, probably not far off the mark.
Another thing it might say is we love a story where an aboriginal culture/nature on the verge of extinction by white ppl is saved by white ppl.
@hexcrawl @bruce_capua I do subscribe to the idea that popular film mirrors what we fear/love in our society. Whether they are good or bad is up to the individual. What do you think that AvatarPocahantasDuneBraveheartLastoftheMohicans film says about us as a culture?
@RpgMatch@EvilHatOfficial My table is the weird one where we play fate every week, so monster of the week or thirsty sword lesbians all the way. Weโve played bitd 2xs for long periods already. Also did scum & Villainy.
@huskyhuskarl Read the hobbit + the lotr + Silmarillion in middle school. Saw the hobbit animated in middle school.
Simple answer is dislike.very little in common with the text. Not because of casting, literally the story and dialogue have very little to do w/2nd age in silmarillion.
@Umbral_KnightX What is the appeal? As a gamer and someone who has written gaming content, I am curious how tables play, but not every single session and moment. How did this evolve?
@Umbral_KnightX CR is critical roll right? I am fascinated by this phenomenon. Would love your take. Iโm an avid gamer have been since 1985. I absolutely cannot watch/listen to other people play a game. Obviously ppl get some pleasure out of it, but it seems fraught with anguish as well?
@SamRogowskiSays If he doesn't take the difficult choice. Disadvantage. This is a core concept of FATE, but adapted for 5e. It provides a way for players to have meaningful backgrounds that come up in play and provide choice architecture in play. :)
@SamRogowskiSays Example. Indiana Jones has an aspect: "That belongs in a museum". An artifact of high value in possession of unscrupulous people is wantonly waved in his face. If Indy takes the compel he starts trouble over the artifact. He can store the advantage until a time of his choosing.
