@MeirionTweets I don't think that's true. Comparing extremes to other extremes is hardly ever done in science. It doesn't really yield any useful insight.
@RnaudBertrand I think it's sensible to remain dubious about this. If it were true that Saudi had held this position since the beginning, I feel like they would have released statements like this earlier. They have waited until the operation has been a complete disaster to air this opinion.
@pashadelics So it should have become a colony to US interests like the GCC countries clearly are. The irony is Iran is showing the world how much power those nations have between them if they ever managed to put their two brain cells together in 80 years. But no, colonialism it was...
@AngelicaOung It's very possible that Bessant is manipulating the price of "paper oil" using the US treasury to buy futures. The head of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange implied this the first time the oil price rise was stopped by a mysterious, massive buyer. Other oil traders are also sus.
@arash_tehran Khamenei just didn't trust the west - who have constantly rewarded that viewpoint with their actions. Basically, Khamenei didn't have any trust with the West.
@AngelicaOung There's also no need to have made it up. Conscripts were told they'd be martyred and rewarded for it - and many believed it. Adding a plastic key to the whole thing is just bizarre and meant to show to western audiences how "easily fooled" they were.
