Guernsey Electricity is carrying £48m in expensive bank debt, forcing steep tariff hikes on us.
Yet the States is sitting on £140m of unallocated 2014 bond cash.
Why won’t P&R change the rules, refinance this debt cheaply, and shield islanders from inflation-busting bills?
I'm currently in Jersey, and even with GST their fuel is cheaper. Can someone explain that to me please? Their food is also cheaper, so where the heck are we going wrong in Guernsey?
@gavinstpier@BBCGuernsey What if a single mum earns just above £50k but is already struggling due to high mortgage interest and no help from the father of her children? In essence she is being punished for working hard
@MaryLowe501@gavinstpier A lot of the staff tried to oppose centralisation and confirmed it would never work, and then MyGov came in. They weren't listened to either. Gavin is very good at spin politics but appears to have a very poor memory of what he has supported in the past
@MaryLowe501@Govgg I'm not sure, but you need a QR code to get on a school bus and I think you have to register to get the code. Some kids might just want to go to town after school, so they hop on the public bus
