Everyoneโs favorite thing on the internet right now is people from all over the world coming to the US for the World Cup and realizing that itโs actually pretty great.
That most of the people you encounter in the real world are welcoming and wonderful.
That the food is delicious, the experiences are unique and memorable, the stadiums are spectacular and so on.
That, despite its flaws (and there are plenty of flaws) the pros outweigh the cons.
But it took people actually being here to realize all of that, because social media, the news or word of mouth has painted a different picture.
I donโt find it to be any coincidence that this is happening in front of us right now, because weโve never needed the reminder more.
Whether itโs the countries that these people are coming from, cities in our own country or even just different cultures inside the city you live in, most of the negativity you have been fed is BS.
And you wonโt know that until you experience it for yourself.
@denverpost They got the mascot part right...
A mascot is any person, animal, or object adopted by a group to represent their identity.
That's all trans people are.
@RoKhanna Tell me again of all the wonderful test scores, reading, writing, math that these big cities like Chicago and NYC. Certainly democrats have invested heavily in those areas
Gabriel Landeskog was certainly not expecting a second award to appear when he sat down for this interview! ๐
Watch as Landeskog's family surprises him with the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for the way he exemplified perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. #NHLAwards
