As the #DRC battles an Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus, WHO's updated filovirus disease guidelines â covering all Ebola and Marburg virus types â are designed for frontline health workers.
The recommendations cover early detection of deterioration, dehydration and shock management, patient monitoring, safe delivery of critical supportive interventions, and structured follow-up for patients who have recovered from Ebola and Marburg.
#StandWithScience
Under the #DRC governmentâs leadership, the coordinated #Ebola response to the outbreak is starting to take hold. But continued scale up is needed, across all areas and functions.
@WHO and partners are working with the government and affected communities to begin clinical trials for therapeutics, to test candidates for safety and efficacy, so patients can have higher chances of recovery
AIDS-related deaths have been reduced by 70% since their peak in 2004, but that progress is now under threat in the face of severe funding cuts.
No country or community can #endAIDS alone.
Together, letâs demonstrate that the international community can rally around science, human dignity & shared responsibility.
A new study from England, #UK, has recorded zero deaths from #CervicalCancer among young women who were vaccinated against #HPV as girls.
Since @WHO made the call to action in May 2018, countries across the world are rolling out the WHO Global Strategy to Eliminate Cervical Cancer â by scaling up vaccination, screening and treatment.
And today, 165 countries have now introduced this lifesaving vaccine.
In fact, a single dose of the vaccine is now proving to be protective towards almost zero risk of cervical cancer.
When science, political commitment and dedicated health workers join forces, #HealthForAll becomes a reality.
