the faucet has now been offline for roughly 11–12 hours. we're back momentarily.

we could have rushed it back online sooner, but after seeing the scale of the traffic and attacks hitting the site, we did not want to bring it back prematurely and give attackers another opportunity before the foundation was stronger.

at its peak, more than 30,000 people were using the website at the same time. since launch, the site has already crossed over half a million visitors. the demand was far beyond anything we expected, and it exposed parts of the infrastructure that needed to be reinforced before we could safely reopen the tap.

we have spent this downtime upgrading the backend, strengthening bot and abuse protection, improving claim verification, and preparing the site to handle significantly more traffic without the same interruptions.

the faucet is not going anywhere. this was never a quick launch that we planned to abandon after the first wave of attention.

we are getting close to bringing everything back online, and when the tap reopens, it will return with a much stronger foundation beneath it.
