never sat right with me how "the power of friendship" is generally seen as this infantile deus ex machina trope i feel ppl are under underappreciating the strength of genuine human connection
Your response to “trans surgeries are not accessible for everyone” should be “we must center material demands for them to be accessible to everyone”. If your response instead is “you’re actually sooooo valid and those surgeries are actually dangerous and bad” you are the enemy!
@silvrelya cloaks are full-length (down to the mid-calf or lower) and can wrap around the body: capes generally only hang behind the shoulders and end at the waist or hips.
Wanting every piece of fiction to be “realistic” has ruined people’s ability to analyze a work critically.
Having a little suspension of disbelief is good, fiction ultimately derives from real life but can only capture a slice of it at most.
@silvrelya maybe (probably more on Silve's part than on Relya's, since Relya's attitude re: nobles probably would have had him very sus early on), but I honestly think their friendship took some time to bloom.
@silvrelya vs. post-Calamity, where he chooses himself to basically bail on his family obligations/duties (since he has inherited after his brother died) and go into exile (after he chooses to argue before the Tsaritsa re: Nod-Krai's autonomy)
@silvrelya as the spare, he got sent off to Nod-Krai to do military stuff (while the fae governor was still in place), potentially incognito and not really by his own choice (bc, well, military orders)
@silvrelya empty really just means time to catch up on other games. or content not done [shoves my fontaine map exploration, or lack of it, under the bed].
