It’s reasonable for Americans to find these public displays of foreign religiosity off-putting, as with Muslims praying in the streets. But concluding that Indians don’t assimilate is incorrect. Each successive generation is far less likely to speak Hindi or practice Hinduism. The problem is that most Indians, like other successful minority groups, assimilate into urban lib culture and adopt their political, albeit with a minority identity that white libs lack. You don’t have to be a vulgar hater to recognize that mass legal immigration having a demonstrably negative impact on our political and cultural spheres.

Something completely lost to most Americans is just how much Virginia drove the War for Independence. Boston gets all the attention because that’s where it turned into a full blown war. The way people think of the War for Independence is that all this stuff happened in Massachusetts then suddenly all the other colonies showed up.

Every colony had its own story, had its own particular efforts and reasons for joining in the war, but the actual political leadership was Virginian. Virginians led in all coordinated political measures.

Further, a Virginian proposed independence, Richard Henry Lee. A Virginian wrote the Declaration, Thomas Jefferson. And a Virginian led the Continental army, George Washington. Virginia was where the first colony took root, and it was also where America itself was born.
