GAMING HOT TAKE: voice chat being dead in every new shooter is on yall, half the fun was talking trash and clutching with randoms and now everyone just queues in silence
I don’t know how to explain this but owning a gaming console does something to your nervous system and mental health. sometimes you just need to sit down, play a game you love, escape reality for a few hours, decompress, and let your brain breathe.
@Favwontmiss Man, I miss when games actually rewarded you for playing. You’d grind to a certain level and unlock a sick outfit, weapon, or car. Now it’s like, “Congrats, you reached the level… that’ll be $9.99 if you actually want the reward.” 😭
An era of gaming I miss so much was when you could unlock outfits or certain cars when you grind to a particular level. Now you have pay with real money before getting them.
Corporate wellness is like “here’s a breathing exercise you can use when you’re being abused so you can continue to be abused. If you don’t feel better, it’s your fault”
Why can’t we report and sue gaming apps for misleading ads? If your ad shows a completely different game from what I actually download I should be able to report and sue. If that’s possible I’ll be starting with games like Homescapes and Gardenscapes.
@Favwontmiss Exactly. I play games to relax, not to clock in. If missing a day means I lose rewards, break a streak, fall behind, or have to spend hours catching up, that’s not a hobby anymore. That’s a second job with better graphics.
POPULAR OPINION: If a video game needs me to log in every single day just to keep up, maintain a streak, claim rewards, or avoid falling behind, then it’s not a good game. I shouldn’t feel like I’m clocking into a second job just to enjoy a hobby.
I’ll never understand why the ads for mobile games are always like “mud covered woman is freezing to death with her baby in the snow, while her dick of a husband is in a mansion with another woman” But then the game is just like, matching puzzles or tetris.
@Favwontmiss Exactly. 😭 If I spend 4 hours gaming, suddenly I “need to go outside.” But spending 4 hours scrolling TikTok, Instagram, or X is somehow normal. We’re all wasting time on screens. At least let people enjoy the screen they actually chose.
I speak for everyone when I say the “you play video games too much” crowd needs to relax. You spent 4 hours scrolling TikTok and Instagram, but somehow someone gaming for 4 hours is the problem? We’re all glued to screens.
