Fantastic result from our young guns last night
5-1 against @hythetownfc read the gaffer, @RhysLeader4 match report:
Faversham Town U23s put in an excellent performance to secure a convincing 5–1 victory over Hythe Town U23s.

The young Faversham side dominated proceedings and created plenty of chances, with the scoreline potentially being even more emphatic on another night. Nevertheless, it was a thoroughly deserved result and another good job done by the U23s.

Faversham opened the scoring after some excellent play out from the back and into the wide areas. Oscar Hockley’s cross took a deflection and beat the goalkeeper, finding the far corner.

Hythe quickly levelled from a soft free kick into the box which Faversham failed to deal with, allowing their striker to finish easily.

Faversham wanted revenge and quickly regained control, with Max Allen delivering a superb corner which found Zac Woodfine who bundled it over the line to restore the lead.

Another corner brought the third. Zac Woodfine won the first header, before Luke Waters reacted quickest to the second ball and flicked it past the goalkeeper.

The fourth came from some neat football in midfield. A clever one-two between Connor Chapman and Max Allen, saw Max get on the scoresheet with the goal at his mercy, he made no mistake with a composed finish into the far corner.

Faversham completed the scoring with another excellent set piece. A corner fell to Luke Waters inside the box, and he spun brilliantly before finding the bottom corner with a superb half-volley for his second of the night.

A strong all-round display from Faversham, who deservedly took all three points after a dominant performance. ⚪️⚫️🦁🦁🦁 #UpTheLilywhites
