One detail from Axion’s last week livestream stood out to me beyond the bylaws themselves.

The DAO isn’t being designed around voting alone.

There’s a clear progression from Apprentice to Axionaut, with roles like Engineer and Sentinel further along the way. The structure also includes a Management Team and a Mastermind Council, with the Council serving as the board of directors and its initial members taking on a one year provisional term.

That suggests participation is meant to evolve as people contribute, learn and take on more responsibility.

And I think that’s an important distinction.

A healthy DAO needs more than people showing up when there’s a proposal to vote on. It needs people who are willing to build, contribute, take ownership and eventually help carry some of the responsibility that comes with running a community.

That’s why the bylaws discussion was interesting to me.

The rules matter, but so does the structure being built around the people who will actually operate within those rules.

And I like that the framework isn’t being treated as something that can never change. The bylaws include an amendment process so the DAO can adapt as it grows.

The next phase will show whether that structure can turn participation into something much deeper than simply having a vote.

Last week’s @axion_network Bylaws reading also gave us a much clearer picture of how the DAO itself will function.

The Mastermind Council is designed to operate similarly to a board of directors, consisting of 5–15 members, while day-to-day operations will be handled separately by the Management Team.

That separation of responsibilities is important.

We also learned that governance proposals will require associated funding that can be crowdfunded by community supporters.

Think about what that changes.

Instead of governance becoming an endless stream of proposals from anyone with an idea, members can demonstrate that an idea has genuine community backing before it moves further through the system.

There are also different procedures for standard, expedited and emergency proposals with emergency actions still requiring accountability afterward.
