today i found a tweet that pissed me off. i decided to just scroll past it instead of reacting to it. i hope everyone does this, it’s quite easy and less stressful.
Yes, fans should respect the artists, but artists should also respect their fans just as much. Respect should always go both ways. Fans are the ones who support them and spend their time and effort on their journey. Acknowledging the role fans play doesn’t mean they owe fans everything, but it does mean appreciating the support and treating them with the same respect they expect in return.
Modern fandom culture should have been abandoned after 2020. I do not understand the desire to be a part of one so bad when they are horrible and restricting environments nearly all the time. You care more about being able to talk about something and fitting in than enjoying it
I know that yall are of low intelligence but I’m not one of those community focused people who’s gonna tolerate fuckery for the sake of human connection. Yall need to get on them leappads & call them hotlines. Yall are in CRISIS mode
At this point I’m considering rejecting the idea of certain fandoms as communities, because the toxicity has made them less about communication and more about obligation to create and behaving a certain way to maintain an identity. So basically a cult.
friends let's not have a parasocial relationship with our idols <3 i am seeing a rise in parasocial connections in all of the fandoms I'm in and I promise you that the idol is not in love with you! would you be in love with someone you meet for essentially half a minute?
- just enjoy whatever the artists offered on the table..
- sometimes no need to go deep, overanalyzing, overthinking and later spreading the whole "only assumptions" thoughts to the fandom, making others anxious for no solid reason.
- dont interfere other fandoms' issue
- opinions stay as opinions, u dont like someone's posts, just scroll away
- u filter ur own circle, u choose what u wanna see
- if u cant handle people's reactions, then some opinions better to keep to urself
- be kind with ur words
- remember that we dont know the artists personally no matter how often we meet them so basically just be a happy positive fans.
- when things get overwhelming, step back and distract urself with something else first.
- u love the artists in ur own way, own capability and what u can afford. dont burden urself too much. not going concerts, fm, events or not buying merchs do not make u any less fan and that do not make them superior too.
- be happy and love the artists like u want to be loved as well
this has happened multiple times since i was in and still am in a lot of fandoms. the love is still there, but the passion has died out. it's no one's fault though. everything is temporary
i'm just thankful that i was even given the opportunity to discover certain interests and people
thankful that i still have the love inside of me that i could give to something and someone
thankful that i could still channel that love to something and someone else
