The key about what makes Lottie a great character is that really at the heart of her motivations is her desire to connect with other people and to give purpose to her own suffering but she ends up becoming predatorial and harming people in the process and that's what's so tragic
misty becoming vital while jackie becomes insignificant is already interesting enough but misty being infatuated with jackie during this period would have been the cherry on top
in the sense that misty was an outcast before the crash, and jackie was their influential (lol) leader-- in the sense that. that their roles swapped when they entered the wilderness...
so many people want to justify what their favorite character does to the point where they misinterpret or ignore substantial aspects to the character, sometimes jeopardizing what makes the character so interesting in the first place. liking morally fucked characters is ok guys,
i love morally ambiguous characters, i love characters that suck, and i love characters that make mistakes. good characters (not necessarily ‘good people’‼️) have flaws, and those flaws are what makes them realistic-- when blended with positive traits.
