“What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.”
“i want to go home, peeta” i say plaintively, like a small child.
“you will. i promise,” he says and bends over to give me a kiss.
“i want to go home now”
“tell you what. you go back to sleep and dream of home. you’ll be there for real before you know it, okay?”
“okay” i whisper.
peeta makes me so sad, he was neglected by his mother, didn’t have a nice relationship with his family, he thought dying on the arena instead of katniss was ok because he didn’t have anything waiting for him outside, and when it was time to be saved no one rescued him 😭😭
suzanne collins is not free from criticism by any means but one thing she NEVER does is writes any of the tributes as the villains. something that a lot of u people dont seem to understand
