This statement that “if President Tinubu wanted to win Osun, he would have” is honestly ridiculous. So, is it now somehow a problem that the will of the people prevailed and Governor Adeleke was re-elected? Are we really serious?

If the President had “wanted to win Osun,”
what exactly does that mean? By doing what? Rigging the election? Using federal influence to interfere with the process? Declare the election in-conclusive?

You’d think Party member and govt officials from their camp were not fully involved. You all lost Osun and all I can see is pain cus if truly the President “ this and that”, why not move in instead of the explanations here and there?

What is even more disturbing is hearing such comments being made confidently on national television, while many people seem not to pay attention to the implication. Elections are supposed to be decided by the people, not by how much a President chooses to “get involved.”

And then think about 2027. President Tinubu obviously would not want to lose his re-election bid. So when statesmen casually say that if he really wants to win an election, he can simply “get involved,” what exactly are Nigerians supposed to take from that?
Sometimes I genuinely wonder how we got to this point. If this is the political mindset we continue to normalize, then our fight for credible, free and fair elections still has a very long way to go.

It’s funny how with all the threats and federal might, Osun people voted for the candidate of their choice. So what’s the pain about and the whole if President Tinubu this and that

Because I genuinely struggle to understand what a sitting minister means when he says the President could have been “involved” if he wanted his party to win and that he himself would have been involved.

Involved how? Would people have been brought in from another state to vote in Osun? Would the election have been disrupted? Would state power have been used to influence the outcome? These are serious questions to ask ourselves prior to 2027 general election.
