Humans default to their self interest when making decisions

In a bureaucracy, it is harmony and decisions lean towards the consensus view or safe bets

In free markets, it is the long term returns and decisions lean towards the most risk adjusted option

Horizon of play is important in aligning incentives.

Don’t play 5 year games with people who are focused on 1 year games.

Most builders (entrepreneurs) play 5 year+ games… most bureaucrats (employees) play 1 year games…

Most people are not trying to actually solve their problems, they are looking for sympathy…

The smaller a company is, the more people Try

The bigger it is, the more people Talk

To stay competitive, try your best to keep the Try / Talk ratio high

use of time is a vote, on what matters a lot to us, at the time... and fluctuates over time.

stress appears to come from having more things you care about than the time you have to allocate to them [at the time]

Wealth comes from creating transformations that reduce entropy in the physical or digital space.

E.g. if each attempt of a process takes 11 hrs and you spend 100 hrs to reduce this to 1 hr, after the 1m iteration, total time saved is ~10m hrs.

The interpretation is impacted by the context of the recipient…
