Raphinha had a terribly slow start to life at Barcelona and I’m very sure no Barcelona fan ever expected him to have a Ballon D’or worthy season and be playing at the level he is currently playing at. Patience is the number 1 attribute we football fans lack, after 1 or 2 season we write off a player as a flop. As long as I see a certain level of ability and talent in my player, I will keep believing!

This claim is biased and dvmb.

Firstly, Raphinha wasn’t a Premier League flop. He had pretty good stats for a player playing in a mid-table team.

Did he move to Barcelona and immediately become the star man? Nope.

Raphinha’s first full season with Leeds before moving to Barcelona, he scored 11 goals in 36 games.

Then he moved to Barcelona in 2022, where he had it rough.

His first full season with Barcelona, he scored 10 goals in 50 games for Barcelona under Xavi.

The second full season with Barcelona in 2023, he scored another 10 goals in 37 games in all competitions.

He had it rough for two complete seasons, being one of the worse players at Barcelona. So many fans wanted him out. (The video is down there.)

He took his time to develop, adapted to the team and finally had his best season under Hansi Flick in his 3rd season with Barcelona.

So this idea that “Premier League flop is now a La Liga star” is just another lazy gimmick.

He didn’t flop in England, and he didn’t become Barcelona’s most important player overnight.

He struggled. He adapted. He improved. Then he had an incredible season.

That’s called development, not a Premier League flop becoming a La Liga star overnight.
