A major problem in the thinking of Western elite is to always blame strength and praise weakness. Even if the strong is ethically superior and the underdog unethical, these Western elites will take the side of the underdog. This flow has made many non-elite Westerners angry with such bias, and hence nationalist populism has been replacing rational patriotism.
Families of 1300 Israelis massacred by Hamas have not received a fraction of Western media attention that Palestinians are getting. This bias has contributed to tilting Israeli political balance more to the right, decimating the Israeli Left. As for the Palestinians, their Nazi grade radical right Hamas is perceived in the West as Progressive Left. No idea how we can correct this problem.
