What is all of this James Hird paranoia about? Personally I’d select him immediately. He’s an outstanding candidate with great experience and knowledge. Hinkley wouldn’t compete with Hird that’s why he’s taking his precious stance. Hinkley and Simpson are trying to manipulate the process. Just make a decision…..one is yes I’m in the other is no I’m not. You can’t have it both ways by saying I’ll nominate if you delete Hirds application. I’m a Hird fan. Couldn’t give a stuff about the past (which is a whole suspicious story in itself by AFL) I’m only interested in the very best person to lift the club out of the mire and return it to respect and success - and that’s James Hird.

Brad Scott sacked, now who will be our next coach? Coaching Essendon is one of the hardest job in AFL. Success starving fans and club hasn't won a final in 2 decades. The pressures will be enormous. Wonder who will be the one that brave enough to take this job?
