If I'm going to complain about anything, it's that our Week 2 conference game being on non-Nielsen network. I know the inventory for TV stn. is bigger W1-4, but, irksome that we can't get there over some cupcake games (I'm sure)
Love to see people complaining about 7:30pm kicktimes when the only other alternative is midday with fewer students/no hype/less fan experience.
... did you think we were gonna get primetime orrr???
It's really the *University's fault* for having such confusing, and frankly, terrible branding.
It's https://t.co/FlLRI3m210 but our helmet says "Cal".
*OF COURSE* people are going to call us "Cal Berkeley", brand guidelines be damned.
@TomeiTyler@ToshingMyLupoi Even if you spend the $5M immediately (paid the stadium debt), it makes a huge difference, too.
Lack of parking/being 1 mi from BART may hurt, but Morgan Wallen just did a concert @ UF, and they have a similar-ish issue I think. So we can dream
I'm not a linguist, but:
I argue that "Cal Berkeley" is "a thing" because people (incl. the very recruits we want to recruit) call us that.
To me it's similar to "aesthetic" as an adjective. It's being used as one, ergo it's correct (apparently this is called semantic change)
The absolute worst, but I want to also blame P12 administrators for believing that college tennis and volleyball are worth anywhere nearly as much as college football. A whole bunch of out of touch people, top to bottom
By conference. I really think that ACC schools with big & wealthy alumni/donor base can succeed even in the skewed TV contract era we're in now
...you know, like, the greatest public university in the world 😉

If you're savvy enough to know that media payouts and conference shares are just a part of total revenue, this post is for you: 2024-25 total revenue by conference

@breeannaf No bit…. I’m connected to (had a kid graduate from Cal) and appreciate Cal but please elaborate on something that makes Cal so much more attractive than UCLA. Maybe a specific course of study…but otherwise, UCLA all day.
@RedditCFB@FBSchedules I can’t believe I’m defending Stanford but looking at them, UGA and a couple others, I wonder if this would be better showing/ranking by median instead of mean
