The FBI is aware of a cyber-criminal enterprise group claiming a compromise of the https://t.co/xzuiRQwBTb portal and alleged impact to FBI employee personally identifiable information (PII). While the point of breach is still undetermined—whether a third-party or the FBI’s enterprise—we are actively and aggressively investigating this matter and working closely with those third-party providers that support https://t.co/xzuiRQwBTb to mitigate any and all risk.

Congratulations to all of the graduates from the FBI National Academy Session 299. All of us at #FBI Pittsburgh wish you the best in your law enforcement career!
FBI Co-Deputy Director Andrew Bailey got a firsthand look at the exceptional work being done right here in Pittsburgh to protect the American people.
He was briefed on significant drug distribution network takedowns, international terrorism plot disruptions, and nationwide counterintelligence efforts. He spent time taking in our Flight 93 display, featuring artifacts from 9/11 and the FBI’s response that followed, understanding the legacy of those heroes and the impact of that day on the Pittsburgh office.
This FBI remains mission focused on keeping our country safe. That work happens every day alongside our partners at every level. And we’re proud to show #FBI leadership how we’re making it happen.
“This individual demonstrated sustained devotion to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. He recorded a pledge of allegiance to ISIS. Following the pledge, he made efforts to spread their propaganda and shared ways to kill…all in the name of a foreign terrorist organization. He armed himself to carry out a mass casualty attack against the American people and was doing so right here in the suburbs of Pittsburgh.”
FBI Pittsburgh leads our Joint Terrorism Task Force, but preventing mass casualty attacks is only possible with the help of our federal, state, and local partners. We’re constantly sharing information. We’re working side-by-side to identify and disrupt threat actors. Every lead and every arrest is a joint effort, and every tip can make a difference.
We’re proud of the work our JTTF is doing every day. Together we’re protecting the communities we call home. And the public saw that firsthand with this week’s announcement of a significant terrorism plot disruption and arrest.
FBI Pittsburgh and our local, state, and federal partners continue to face an elevated threat environment across the region from a variety of terrorism actors.
An extremely alarming threat to our community exists when an individual reportedly pledges allegiance to a foreign terrorist organization, seeks to turn that ideology into action, and makes final preparations for an attack.
Our mission is clear: prevent attacks, protect the American people, and bring those responsible for terrorism to justice. https://t.co/U2XAbSQqxP
FBI Pittsburgh remembers.
The passengers and crew of Flight 93 chose to make their stand in our skies, and their sacrifice continues to remind us that the fight against terrorism is both personal and profoundly tied to the Western Pennsylvania region.
We were proud to be part of today’s ceremony at the Flight 93 National Memorial and to be joined by FBI Assistant Deputy Director Yarbrough as we honored those we lost on 9/11, reflected on the events of that day, and reaffirmed our commitment to protecting the American people.
Our Joint Terrorism Task Force is at the forefront of that work, putting federal, state, and local law enforcement shoulder to shoulder to fight threats of terrorism and violent extremism before they can cause harm.
We will never forget.
The terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, changed the nation—and the FBI. In commemoration of the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, we share stories of loss, heroism, and national unity. We will #neverforget 🇺🇸
More monumental changes to this FBI: Opening the Quantico High-Performance Training Center (HPTC), a state-of-the-art training facility to keep our people at their best—both physically and mentally.
Changes like these keep this FBI doing what we do best: protecting the American people and crushing violent crime at record levels.
This FBI is crushing narcotics networks and dismantling criminal enterprises across the country. As part of Summer Heat 2.0, our teams have seized nearly 10,000 kg of narcotics and 3,116 weapons, and made 5,097 arrests, and we’re not slowing down. On this International Overdose Awareness Day, we reaffirm our commitment to combat drug trafficking organizations and crush violent crime to restore safety in our communities.
