Addressed the inaugural session of the Animal Taxonomy Summit to mark 111th Foundation Day of @ZoologicalI, in Kolkata today, along with West Bengal minister Dr @swapan55.

Under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi ji, environmental governance has evolved from a regulatory framework to a proactive development model integrating conservation with economic progress.

Documenting India's faunal diversity is fundamental to conservation, as species cannot be protected unless they are scientifically identified and documented.

The work of the Zoological Survey of India has helped us understand, protect, and celebrate this extraordinary natural heritage.

International Yoga Day 2026
Theme: “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”
FBRC, ZSI, Hyderabad celebrated IDY 2026 on 21st June 2026. Scientists and staff participated in various Yoga Aasanas under the guidance of a Yoga Guru, promoting health, wellness & a sustainable lifestyle.

Reviewed the functioning of the @MOEFCC’s Regional Offices at Nagpur, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar during a meeting in Mumbai today.

Deliberated on key field-level issues relating to forest conservation and environmental safeguards, with a focus on translating on-ground experiences into robust national policy outcomes.

We also discussed ways to strengthen implementation for a greener and more sustainable India.

The discussions were guided by PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s reform-oriented agenda, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, improving governance, and delivering better environmental outcomes through effective implementation.

Under Swachhta Pakhwada, Freshwater Biology Regional Centre (FBRC), ZSI, Hyderabad, conducted a Pond Cleaning activity on 12th June 2026. This initiative reflects the commitment of FBRC towards promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and a sustainable environment.

On World Blood Donor Day (14 June 2026), officials & staff of FBRC, ZSI Hyderabad, voluntarily donated blood to support the noble cause of blood donation and saving lives. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Revanth, Olive Hospital, Hyderabad.

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, observed on 14th June 2026, the officials and staff of Freshwater Biology Regional Centre (FBRC), Zoological Survey of India, Hyderabad took a pledge to support and promote the noble cause of voluntary blood donation.

*111 Hours Hackathon 2026 Successfully Concluded
On 29 May 2026, the FBRCZSI, Hyderabad, successfully organized the *111 Hours Hackathon 2026* in commemoration of *111 Years of ZSI on the theme "Traditional Knowledge in Biodiversity Conservation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
