“A thriller with a deep soul and a haunting cause.”
#SoundOfFreedom is not a “conservative” film. It grapples with issues we should all care about.
@standardspeeds I remember seeing this film at its premiere at sxsw. Half the audience responded like your wife. The other thought it was the future of cinema. Who was right…?
Succubus premiere in LA with Brendan Bradley and Ron Perlman. So excited to be a part of this film! Can’t wait for everyone to see it. September 24th!!
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 … and all of a sudden Rolling Stone and lead reporters for MSNBC are saying a “lead producer” of the film is being accused of the same crimes the film represents. That was a gross distortion that nobody fact checked because it fit a narrative they wanted to be true.
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 A lot of SOF criticism started as left wingnut conspiracy and got laundered up. The Fabian Marta story is a perfect example. Some blogger did a background check on over 6000 names of contributors to a crowdfunding effort, found one guy who had a pending charge…
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 Yes I hear you… and as someone who cares how these films are seen and discussed it’s heartbreaking when they’re inaccurately portrayed!
I hope some people revisit SOF knowing the same people made Cabrini, rather than the other way around.
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 I can tell you absolutely nobody involved with the production had any idea who Fabian Marta is and that he has in fact been completely cleared as innocent (it was some weird custody battle where he was just a landlord).
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 Correct and the article is relatively fair, reporting on the phenomenon more than any accused wrongdoing. As it says, Angel denied any relation to QANON as did TB. JC’s political beliefs are his own, came out long after the film, and don’t represent the film or the filmmakers.
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 The director and writer wrote an op-ed speaking out against the unfortunate politicalization of the film.
Unfortunately JC, TB and one of the film's producers chose to frame the film in a political way that may have hurt the film as much as it helped.
@PARODY_ELON_@SambasFather@bennyjohnson@AngelStudiosInc@cabrinifilm2024 I understand your skepticism!
I think if you watched SOF, you'd see that there are no politics and next to no religion present in the film itself. Almost all of that dialog is generated by the press after the fact...
