@JFergusonAU Not sure if there is a mailbag this week, but if so, project AU offense, defense and special teams floor and ceiling by historic Auburn units. I’m hoping the floor for ST is higher than the 2024 unit.
@Clintau24 Have they ever sported the throwback un-bordered thin line AUs hats from the 90s? My favorite cap from childhood, the golden age of college baseball hats. Due for a nod in my opinion.
@JFergusonAU As an analytics enthusiast, through the search I was thinking about a way to predict a coaching hire’s success. To model from past data, you need to define a successful hire. How would you generically define success as a head coach? Championships? Win% vs historic %? A rubric?
@EconChrisClarke@HanqinTian This is fun. My grandfather, b. 1929, lamented in his 60s how the quail he hunted in the crop lands of rural south Alabama as a child had disappeared with conversion to planted pines. Fascinating to see his “normal” as a blip in the longer history.
This is really fascinating. Forest and grassland converted to crops in 19th cent. 20th cent urbanization. But also notice some re-forestation in TX and South East. After 1920, total forested land is fairly stable.
This was a lot of fun to make. Data from @HanqinTian et al.
