one of the most easily-disproven denial points is that "not a single body" has been found at residential schools. Cowessess First Nation, which found 751 unmarked graves at the Marieval residential school in 2021, has identified over 300 bodies: https://t.co/2XPdyttjLt

Exactly. Alberta summers are so different now than when I was a kid. I worry about what the smoke exposure will do to my kids and I worry even more that we may one day be evacuees like the people of #JasperAB. #JasperWildfire
I’m sick of people trying to gaslight everyone by telling them “we’ve always had fires in Alberta.” Of course, we’ve always had fires. But the last few years are off the charts. I grew up here. The average used to be 12 HOURS of smoke cover in a summer. Now it’s days and weeks.
@LukaszukAB@PierrePoilievre "Common sense" is code for simplistic approaches to highly complex problems. Anyone who works with folks with addictions knows that safe consumption + barrier-free access to treatment saves lives. True common sense tells us this shouldn't be politicized,
We had an informative afternoon with Deanna Holt from the @Distress_Centre, who gave a training on mental health and addictions. We were joined with our friends from the John Howard Society, @fear_isnotlove and @connections_yyc. Thank you, Deanna for a fantastic presentation!
What happened today in the United States was horrifying. It’s incumbent upon all of us to stand united in condemning the violence against former President Trump and his supporters.
We can disagree vigorously and stand for what we believe in, but violence has absolutely no place in democratic politics. I’m deeply disturbed to see people have been injured and killed, and I’m sending my thoughts to all those impacted.
Oh brother… This is an obvious enough con south of the border, but to try to import it here…

@DuaneBratt Such a wild statement to make. She only made the situation worse with a polarizing statement like this. We deserve so much better from our Premier.

The destruction of legal aid fits a clear pattern: the UCP government is unable to prioritize or negotiate basic agreements that hold our health, social services, and (now) justice systems together.
I dont think it's calculated. Rather, Hanlon's Razor applies:
Did you know our services are 100% free for #AlbertaWorkers? We help workers access lost wages, file #HumanRights complaints and apply for benefits to support them in difficult times. If you need help with a work-related issue, call 1-844-435-7972.

.@mickeyamery You avoid addressing the core questions:
❓Why do you insist on excluding the Law Society from negotiations?
❓Why do you want to eliminate predictable 5-year funding and switch to 1-year grant funding?
❓Where’s an audit showing any wasteful spending?
