Le projet de loi C-9 sur la « haine » est adopté

L'amendement du Sénat au projet de loi C-9 vient d'être adopté aujourd'hui par la Chambre des communes par 189 voix contre 128, il ne lui manque plus désormais que la sanction royale pour devenir loi du pays.

C-9, la loi sur la « haine », sera probablement utilisée par des activistes afin de persécuter leurs opposants politiques, notamment les chrétiens. La définition de la « haine » dans C-9 est assez floue, elle y est comprise en tant qu'« émotion ». Pourquoi donc condamner une émotion si la « haine », entendue comme volonté de nuire est déjà en pratique condamnée par les lois, puisque, quand une personne a causé un tort à une autre, la justice cherchera si le tort a été causé volontairement.

Réduire la « haine » à une simple émotion ouvre la porte à bien des interprétations douteuses, il n'y qu'à voir comment les libéraux voient de la « haine » partout. Rappelons que Marc Miller, ministre de l'Identité et de la Culture canadiennes, considère que certains passage de la Bible sont « haineux ».

Rappelons également que le député libéral, John-Paul Danko, a cité lors de débats parlementaires la « haine anti-avortement » comme exemple du type de discours que C-9 devrait viser... C'est ce même Danko qui, dernièrement, accusait le député conservateur Vincent Ho d'« attiser délibérément la haine » parce qu'il avait demandé lors d'un comité ce qu'était « la définition d'une femme ».

Justin Trudeau went on national TV to push COVID vaccines on children aged 5-11, even after public health data explicitly confirmed the risk of myocarditis in young people. Parents deserved honest risk transparency not irresponsible dangerous scripted political pressure campaign.

A Muslim mother speaking about a book that Ladybird is promoting during Pride Month.

The book is aimed at children as young as two years old and features two women - who appear to be a couple - with a baby, one of whom is wearing a hijab.

Her comments echo what many parents - of any faith or none - would likely agree with: that some topics are simply too adult for very young children.

She also states, quite openly, that while Muslims can of course live peacefully in a society where LGBTQ values are present, those values are not compatible with her faith.

So many questions.

But the one uppermost in my mind is this: will anyone dare to call this woman bigoted or transphobic?

For being honest about what she believes is appropriate for young children.

And for being honest about her faith.

Or are such accusations reserved for other groups of people who express similar views?
