Why should foodgrains rot in the open when millions struggle for two square meals a day?
Wrote to Union Minister @JoshiPralhad urging immediate steps to prevent spoilage of FCI stocks and seeking FREE distribution of surplus foodgrains to poor and vulnerable families, in keeping with the Supreme Court's 2010 observations, instead of being allowed to deteriorate in CAP/open storage exposed to rain and humidity.
Also called for a phased end to CAP/open storage of foodgrains by FCI and rapid expansion of modern warehouses and silos.
